THE BRIEF
Hey all, it’s MMV.
If you’re up to date on social media trends, you may have heard of “building in public”.
The trend involves entrepreneurs and creators publicly sharing their business journey that includes successes, failures, and behind the scenes operations, in order to build trust and market organically.
Rather than going through a hard launch with a full production in marketing and professional advertisements, this method leverages authenticity with an unfiltered view of starting and building a business.
I’ve seen some great creators share their journey as they started a coffee shop or a breakfast burrito company. You probably seen a video of these.
While I’m not building a storefront (yet), I do have this social media presence that I hope I can grow into something a bit more than a side hustle. This is why I’m going to go all-in on building a community.

THE BRIEF
⭕️ Launching a community membership
I already share a lot like how I moved up in my career, how I was laid off, how I took a 1-year retirement/sabbatical, and how I got a job in the federal government, but during this entire process of posting on social media, I was able to connect with so many of you who’ve had similar experiences with some periods in my life.
Inspired by the conversations I’ve had with so many of you, I plan to launch my community membership on my 100th newsletter post.
This is an evolution from my previous membership that was on Substack. I did stop it because I was switching over from Substack to Beehiiv but I’m starting it back up and revamping it to what others seem to enjoy learning about.
With the community membership, PRO members will receive:
✅ a Personal Finance Dashboard where you can copy & paste your bank transactions and it’ll auto-populate important metrics
✅ interviews with some people you may know
✅ case studies of successes & learning lessons from people like you and me
✅ exclusive AMA from questions from the community
✅ a community forum and mini-courses will be launched shortly after
As time goes on and the community grows, I hope to be able to add more benefits like partnering with companies to give exclusive discounts.
This is also a way to support me as a creator as hosting a newsletter isn’t cheap and it’ll continue to push me to put out content.
I plan to offer the membership at a lower rate for early members to get the community started so if you’re looking for like-minded individuals to learn from, you’ll be able to join at the next newsletter!

Over the next year, Roku predicts that 100% of the streaming audience will see ads. For growth marketers in 2026, CTV will remain an important “safe space” as AI creates widespread disruption in the search and social channels. Plus, easier access to self-serve CTV ad buying tools and targeting options will lead to a surge in locally-targeted streaming campaigns.
Read our guide to find out why growth marketers should make sure CTV is part of their 2026 media mix.
