THE BRIEF
Hey all, it’s MMV.
I’m writing this post on December 31st and I’m disappointed to admit that I’m just sitting down and writing down my goals for 2026.
If you thought I was a procrastinator, you’re right.. but I’m not ashamed of it. I tend to do better work when I work against a deadline and in this case, it’s before midnight so I can celebrate the new year with my wife.
2025 was going on track until it wasn’t.. I had some specific goals for 2025 like hitting 10K followers on Instagram (currently at 11.7K) and investing $50,000 in my taxable brokerage (just hit $50K) but when my job situation changed (no more remote work, thanks Trump 🤬), everything else did too.. My life went from UNBELIEVABLY comfortable to feeling like I was stuck in the rat race again because I had to go into the office daily.
I know this is very much first world problems, but I refuse to return to this kind of life.
In this post, I’m going to list and share my goals as a way of manifesting them.

THE BRIEF
📝 How I Set Up My 2026 Goals

For goal planning, the best system to use is one that is easy for you to use because if it’s too complicated or too difficult to get to, you won’t use it as much.
I categorize my goals so it’s easier to organize each individual goal:
Personal finance
Career & business
Personal development
Health & fitness
Social & relationships
Hobbies
I organize my life, my business, and my creative stuff in Notion so I’m always using Notion. Naturally, I set up my goals in a customized Notion page because I need my goals to be visually organized like this:

Right when I open my Notion, I can click my Goal Tracker page and I’ll instantly see an overview of my goals.
Let’s go over them.

📈 All My Goals for 2026
I wrote my goals based on how I feel and where my priorities are. You can write as many goals as you want but I personally like to write a few that are impactful.
I’ll start with the easy one.
In the Personal Finance category, I kept it simple: contribute $7,500 to my Roth IRA (will complete this the first week of January), invest $50K in my taxable brokerage (a repeat of 2025), and grow my net worth to $2M (VERY ambitious). I don’t really have much personal finance goals because my other goals take priority. Personal finance is very much automated for me so I’m focused more on building my brand and business.

In the Career & Business category, I set ambitious goals that I’m laser focused on: reach 50K followers on Instagram, achieve $20,000 in revenue from MMV, start a new career as I’m prepared to leave my current cushy office job, and start Sitting on Dough (a different venture). I bought the domain, started the LLC, but I haven’t done much with it, but it overlaps a lot with MMV so I need to figure out what to do with this.

For Personal Development, I set a goal to read 3 books because I didn’t read a SINGLE book in 2025. If you have any book recommendations, let me know. I typically read self development books and autobiographies from entrepreneurs so if you have a suggestion, DM me on Instagram!
In the Health & Fitness category, I have 2 main goals: bring my weight down to 220 pounds (I’m currently 248 pounds) and to bring my one-mile run time down to 8 minutes. Back when I was in the Army, I was around 225 pounds running a one-mile in 6:30 minutes. At this point, I’ll be happy hitting one mile at 8 minutes.
For the Social & Relationship category, I want to plan 4 getaways with my wife. We did 2 major trips in 2025 (Japan and Hawaii) so I think for 2026, we’ll focus more on longer weekend trips in the country. We want to go back to Utah and maybe try the Pacific Northwest!
Lastly, I don’t have many hobbies except working out and gaming, but all my friends are into golfing. I’ve NEVER played golf and I don’t know how. In the Hobbies category, I added that I’ll at least try golfing in 2026, but I need to either find someone who is patient enough to teach a noob or take classes.
With each of these goals, I set up tasks or milestones to track its progress:

Once each task is complete, I can check it off in the Tasks & Milestones table and it’ll auto-calculate how close I am to completing my goal.
I make it really simple so it’s easy for me to keep track of and easy for me to do.
